Computer Peripheral and Devices

Peripheral is a device which is attached to the P.C. This device is not part of P.C. but it is dependent upon the host. Computer printers, image scanners, tape drives, microphones, loudspeakers, webcams, and digital cameras are Computer Peripherals which are commonly used.

Computer Printer is a device to produces a text or graphics of document stored in electronic form.  It is attached by a printer cable to Computer.

Image scanner is a device which is commonly used in the office. It is a device which scans images and text into electronic form. It is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image.


Tape Drives is a storage device that stores data in it. This device is used in homes, commonly housed in a casing such as plastic known as a cassette.

Microphones are devices which are used in telephones, tape recorders, karaoke systems, hearing aids, motion picture production, live and recorded audio engineering, FRS radios, megaphones, in radio and television broadcasting and in computers for recording voice, speech recognition, VoIP, and for non-acoustic purposes such as ultrasonic checking or knock sensors. It is a device that converts sound into an electrical signal.


Loudspeakers are a device which converts an electrical signal into sound. It is mostly used as a Computer Peripheral by teenagers.


Webcam is device which as effected the communication by improving it in many ways. It now plays an important role in business meeting or I will link to say it as videoconference stations. It has also become an important part in security and privacy issues. Some of them are build in such a way that there can be   remotely activated via spyware.

Digital Cameras are used to take video and still images. It is a device that displays images on a screen immediately after they are recorded, which are stored and saved in the small memory device. You and I can easily edit and delete things to free the space for the device.

Computer Peripherals and devices play an important role not only in the office but also in the home. You and I listen to music and song with the help of it. But it also helps you to do your study efficiently.  Computer has different parts like System unit, Storage, Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, Printer, Speakers and Modem.
